Birch Tree Lesson

5th Grade Birch Tree Lesson
1 Hour Long

Supplies Needed:

Blue Painters Tape (we used 2 sizes)
Multi Media White Paper
Tempura Paints
Acrylic Paints
Large Paint Brush
Sponge Type Paint Brush
Assorted Container Lids

Paint Palette we used

Step one: Using your painter tape lay it on your white paper (we went to the top/bottom of our paper)
TIP: in order to easily remove the tape and prevent it from ripping your paper- tear the tape you intend to use and stick in on your shirt or pants before applying to your paper(this is make it less sticky and way easier to remove)

Step Two: We used Tempura paint for this part.  Start with the lightest color and blend in the colors using your paintbrush

Step Three- We gathered a few lids and painted the tips- then we pushed them on the painting.  We did various sizes around the painting.  We did some in the center and others going off the page.

Step Four: We added white dots using the paintbrush shown above

Step Five- Remove your tape

Step Six- add a LITTLE bit of paint to your paintbrush

Step Seven- add black to the sides and center of your birch tree.
